Tori Piercy, MSN-NP, has always enjoyed understanding the science behind how and why something works.

“Working in medicine, I can use my passion for science to have an impact on people’s lives,” said Piercy, a nurse practitioner specializing in neurology at Methodist Physicians Clinic.

She previously worked as a critical care nurse and then spent several years working as a nurse practitioner on a neurocritical care team – where she grew to love the complexities of neurological cases.

Piercy believes in involving her patients in decision-making and supporting their input.

“I think one of the most important things is to work directly with my patients and develop a plan that they are comfortable with and fully understand,” she said.

Piercy enjoys making a positive impact on patients and their families.

“Seeing patients go from critically ill in the ICU to discharging is very meaningful to me and shows the true impact of care,” she said.
