Taylor Deal, PMHNP-BC, became interested in medicine and the human body after watching the TV show “ER” as a kid.

Deal, who works as a mental health nurse practitioner at Methodist Fremont Health Behavioral Health, is drawn toward reproductive psychiatry and the intersection between women’s health and mental health.

“I love how psychiatry is both an art and a science,” she said. “Mental health is complex and multifactorial, and it often requires trial and error to find what works.”

Deal wants patients to know that she believes in a holistic approach to care and strives to consider many different factors that contribute to mental well-being.

She believes that providing The Meaning of Care to everyone she encounters is “vital.”

“Studies have shown that one of the most important elements of a successful course of treatment is genuine connection between client and provider,” Deal said.

Outside of caring for patients, Deal enjoys listening to music, cooking, baking, going on long walks, gardening, weightlifting, biking, watching comedy and improv shows, and spending time with her family.
