When a patient visits Shelly Schutte, PA-C, they'll find a laid-back atmosphere with no judgement.
"I want to get to know my patients thoroughly so I can provide the best care for them," said Schutte, a physician assistant who specializes in diabetes and endocrinology at Methodist Physicians Clinic. "I'll always go out of my way to do the best thing for the patient and be the advocate they need. Together, we'll build the best care plan that fits their needs and lifestyle."
Schutte enjoys the complexity of her work and the relationships she's able to develop over time especially with patients with diabetes.
"I really get to know my patients because of the amount of time I spend with them," she said. "For a chronic condition like diabetes, appropriate treatment can change a person's life. That's what's most gratifying – when a patient puts their trust in you as their provider and has a positive outcome."
In her free time, Schutte loves spending time with her family and traveling.
