Sarah Sankey, PA-C, wants to be more than just a medical provider for her patients. She wants to be a trusted health partner.

"During a visit, patients can expect a caring and friendly face," said Sankey, a physician assistant with Pulmonary Medicine Specialists at Methodist Physicians Clinic. "I believe it's important for patients to feel heard and respected, and to have all of their questions answered. I hope to leave each of them feeling more empowered to better their health."

Sankey completed her Master of Science in physician assistant studies at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, and she completed a public health certificate in community-oriented primary care at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in psychobiology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

She finds her work at Methodist rewarding for several reasons.

"I enjoy being a physician assistant because it allows me to collaborate with an outstanding team of specialists while spending quality time with my patients," she said. "The continuity of care involved with pulmonary medicine allows me to establish meaningful relationships with them."

Those relationships can yield big results.

"I have witnessed the power of change when patients become invested in their health goals," she said.

Outside of work, Sankey enjoys traveling with her husband, running, golfing, attending Husker sporting events and spending time with friends and family.
