For Roxanne Kardell, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, health care is all about having a positive impact on others.

“We see patients at some of the most challenging times of their lives,” said Kardell, a nurse practitioner specializing in nephrology. “I want to be a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on and an advocate for the patient and their families. I’m happy if I can make even a small difference for them.”

Kardell cares for patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Nephrology and is passionate about helping them thrive while managing what can be complex, life-limiting conditions.

“I feel very privileged to be in this role,” she said. “I enjoy being a part of conversations with patients and their families about how we can provide the best care possible for them.”

Kardell is proud to bring her skills to a team that’s focused on showing each patient The Meaning of Care, which, she said, is synonymous with the golden rule.

“I’ll do everything possible to put the patient first and treat them how I hope to be treated,” she said. “I’ll strive to think outside of the box in complex and challenging situations. I want to be a provider who patients trust and can be honest with.”

When she’s not caring for patients, Kardell enjoys camping, hiking and traveling with her family – especially to the mountains.
