Renee A. Hudson, PsyD

Renee Hudson, Psy.D., ABPP, is a neuropsychologist at the Geriatric Assessment Clinic at Methodist Physicians Clinic Indian Hills. She is board-certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.

She earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in Minneapolis and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the Hartford Hospital and Institute of Living in Hartford, Connecticut.

Dr. Hudson's clinical interests include dementia, the effects of stroke and how medical conditions  such as diabetes, sleep apnea and heart disease – can affect thinking and memory. In her role, Dr. Hudson meets with patients and caregivers to perform evaluations that help diagnose and treat cognitive issues and age-related health changes.

"Neuropsychology provides an opportunity to put pieces of a puzzle together to aid the patient, their family and the medical team," she said. "Keeping folks as independent as we possibly can is the ultimate goal."

Dr. Hudson especially enjoys getting to know patients and their families while being part of their care.

"It's just one of those joys to sit with someone and help them understand that memory loss is not the end of living," she said. "There is much life left to live, and with a few little tweaks and accommodations, there is much joy left."

Dr. Hudson has lived on both coasts and in places in between. But, she said, "Without reservation, Nebraska is one of the best places to raise a family and to live a good life."

In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, visiting family, cooking and gardening.
