Dr. Rebecca Jacobi remembers the moment she decided she would be medical professional. A family friend once asked her what she wanted to be as an adult, and she confidently replied, "I want to be a doctor!" Her proclamation, coupled with her affinity for mathematics and science, guided her down the medical track.
Wanting to be a doctor that cared for women through and beyond pregnancy, Dr. Jacobi completed medical school and her residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Today, Dr. Jacobi is an OB-GYN at Methodist Physicians Clinic Women's Center.
When I deliver a baby to a family that has really been waiting for this child, and everybody is in the room crying including me, those are times when I go to bed and I think, "What a privilege to be able to be involved in those experiences."
Dr. Jacobi is very passionate about patient relationships, and considers each of them special. Over the years, she has formed very strong bonds with each of her patients. However, none of that could have been accomplished without one essential factor: good listening. Dr. Jacobi believes that taking the time to listen to and address the concerns of each patient is the key to effective health care.
In her free time, Dr. Jacobi enjoys spending time with her family. Despite her busy schedule, she finds quality activities that she and her family can do whenever possible.
