Rachael Barnes, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, strives to form relationships built on trust and respect.

“To me, that’s The Meaning of Care,” she said. “I’m going to get to know each patient on a personal level, make a connection with them and treat them like I’m seeing an old friend.”

Barnes, a nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine at Methodist Physicians Clinic, is passionate about holistic and preventive care. She especially enjoys pediatric care and the difference she can make in children’s lives.

“I believe in treating the whole patient, not just the symptom, and working with them to prevent acute and chronic conditions,” she said. “Together, we can create a health plan that best suits their needs and goals.”

Outside of the clinic, Barnes loves traveling with her family to national parks for hiking and other adventures. They also enjoy cheering on the Husker football and volleyball teams.
