Thanks to her mother, Trish Lien, PA-C, knew from a young age that she wanted to care for others.
"I watched my mom, an emergency room nurse, as she modeled such passion for medicine," Lien said. "Seeing that passion throughout my childhood instilled my own interest in medicine."
Now a physician assistant specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Methodist Physicians Clinic, Lien is making a difference in the lives of patients of her own.
"I love educating patients on their ailments and instructing and/or performing treatments to better their quality of life," she said. "It's truly rewarding to help patients overcome the hurdles of pain in order to continue their daily activities and get back to what they love doing."
Whatever a patient's challenges, Lien said, she and her colleagues are committed to showing them The Meaning of Care in every step of their treatment.
"The Meaning of Care is the passion, compassion and motivation to give our patients the best version of ourselves as providers and as team members in their total care," she said.
When she's not caring for patients, Lien loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. Together, they enjoy being active outside, cooking, trying new restaurants, watching football and attending live sporting events.
