Oleg N. Militsakh, MD

Dr. Oleg Militsakh is a surgeon with the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Clinic at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. He completed medical school at the University of Kentucky and was a surgical resident at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Militsakh is particularly interested in thyroid and parathyroid disorders as well as pediatric head and neck surgery. Most important to him is doing all he can to restore a patient's quality of life.

"Being able to dedicate my life to the healing process of others is a privilege," he said.

He believes having the support and resources that Methodist Health System provides is key to successful outcomes.

"Everyone in the organization – physicians, nurses, administration and support personnel ñ exemplifies The Meaning of Care," he said. "In an environment like that, I am able to provide the most excellent care for my patients."

Dr. Militsakh's interests outside of work include wildlife photography, hunting, fishing, archery and travel. He was born in the former Soviet Union and has done his share of moving around. He moved to the Unites States as a teenager and has lived in Kentucky, South Carolina, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

"While I am still a Kentucky Wildcat fan, I love Husker Nation!" he said.
