Nicole Dix, DO

Nicole Dix, DO, an OB/GYN with Methodist Physicians Clinic Women's Center, was the first in her family to explore medicine as a career path. She credits her high school psychology and biology classes for piquing her interest in becoming a physician.

"I prefer to take care of relatively healthy people who are having mostly happy times in their lives, and that's probably what drew me to OB/GYN (obstetrics and gynecology)," she said.

The best part of her job?

"Delivering babies!" Dr. Dix said with a smile.

But the most memorable moments of her career came when she helped the mothers of two sets of twins find the appropriate high-risk care they needed to have the best, healthiest outcomes possible.

"When they come back to me and have these beautiful babies and thank me for getting them where they needed to be ñ that feels good."

Being part of Methodist Health System gives Dr. Dix peace of mind that her patients have access to all the help and resources they need. She wants each of her patients to know that she is a good listener, always making time for conversation while providing a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

"They're not always looking for a solution," she said. "Sometimes they just need to talk."

Outside of work, Dr. Dix enjoys soaking up time with her family and following her two "very active" boys to all their sporting events. She admittedly doesn't have time for many hobbies, but she does enjoy reading when she can.
