Melissa Hynek, MSN, ARNP, WHNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner at Methodist Physicians Clinic Women's Center Council Bluffs. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln, Nebraska. Hynek previously worked as a women's health nurse practitioner at Metro OB-GYN as well as Bluffs OB-GYN and Incontinence Center. She also has obstetric nursing experience at two hospitals.
Hynek is committed to a holistic approach to care and developing a relationship with each of her patients.
"I love to be able to spend time with and get to know my patients. I feel it is so important to know about what's going on in their lives," she said. "I also believe education and trust are very important. I have always been and will always be honest with my patients. My goal is to make sure they receive the proper education in order to empower them and help them make the best decisions."
Hynek enjoys spending her free time with her husband, son, two dogs and other family and friends. Her family has a long history in the restaurant business. Her father was a longtime co-owner of Caniglia's Venice Inn, and he continues to pass down his favorite recipes to his family.

Seriously the best obgyn ive ever seen. Very kind, very good at listening and following through with concerns. Always includes me in the "plan" for appts/treatments. Had some irritation and she immediately told me some over the counter /at home solutions to try, but also prescribed an ointment if they didnt work. Made me feel extremely comfortable, as these are notoriously uncomfortable exams/appointments. Would absolutely recommend her to others

Melissa Hynek was very empathetic with me and my husband after just finding out we miscarried our first pregnancy. She explained things very well to us and answered all of our questions with care and informed us of our next options very thoroughly.

Melissa has always had answers that nobody else has had for me from day one. I enjoy her bubbly personality and how easily she explains a concern and her way of making me feel heard and understood is amazing!

She was an attentive listener and had options that I could follow to help with some of my concerns (prescription and OTC options). She also went above/beyond to order additional testing to try and discover a potential root cause of my concerns so they could be addressed. She took my concerns seriously and didn't just chalk It up to "aging or stress", which was wonderful.
