Lorna Monaghan, PA-C

Lorna Monaghan, PA-C, developed her passion for women's health care in high school when she volunteered on the labor and delivery and postpartum floor at Swedish Medical Center in Colorado.

As a physician assistant on the gynecologic oncology team at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center, Monaghan proudly devotes her time to caring for women.

"I'm honored to stand as an advocate for women and aid in any way I can toward their healing and recovery," she said.

One of Monaghan's favorite parts of working in medicine is sharing in her patient's stories. She enjoys learning about each patient's history, current situation and future goals, and she embraces the opportunity to be a part in their journey.

Monaghan believes that The Meaning of Care is a commitment to compassionate, attentive and individualized care.

She said that the entire Methodist staff couldn't have been more welcoming when she was a student on clinical rotations, which helped her decide where to apply for her first job after graduation.

"After months of training and witnessing The Meaning of Care in action, I knew I wanted to return and work here."

Outside of work, Monaghan enjoys spending time with her daughter, practicing yoga, reading, playing outside with her dog and spending time in the kitchen dancing, cooking and baking.
