Liz Frankl, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, has worked in emergency medicine, cardiology and reproductive health, but she’s always taken a particular interest in caring for women.

“My passion for women’s health grew after I became a mother,” she said. “And now I can’t imagine working in any other specialty.”

As an OB/GYN nurse practitioner at the Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center, Frankl believes that trust between a patient and provider is built through active listening.

“I don’t take for granted the honor it is that women let me into the different stages of their lives,” she said.

Her favorite part of working in OB/GYN is helping first-time moms through pregnancy and postpartum care. Frankl’s personal struggle with nausea during pregnancy allows her to offer firsthand symptom-management techniques.

Frankl also enjoys discussing contraception methods and working with women to find what fits their individual needs.

“I want my patients to feel comfortable trusting me with their concerns, knowing I’ll meet them with a listening ear and a ‘Let’s figure it out together’ attitude.”

When she’s not seeing patients, Frankl enjoys spending time with her husband and children, golfing, reading, and doing puzzles.
