Lindsay K. Allen, APRN

Growing up, Lindsay Allen, ARNP, was inspired by her family to pursue a career in healthcare.

Her mother was a nurse and volunteer emergency medical technician, and her uncle was a firefighter and paramedic. A defining moment, she said, was her father’s heart attack when she was young.

“I spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals, listening to cardiologists and providers educating us on his health and condition,” said Allen, a nurse practitioner specializing in cardiology. “Being on the other side, I know what it feels like to be the family member getting scary news or not knowing what the possible outcome may be. That makes me more empathetic toward my patients and their families.” Allen cares for patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic - 1 Edmundson Place. She brings a personalized approach to care and strives to connect with her patients individually. Building genuine relationships while helping patients improve their health is what The Meaning of Care is all about, she said.

“It means doing my best to provide care with compassion and respect to the best of my ability,” she said.

Outside of work, Allen can be found spending time with her family and attending her children’s many activities. In her spare time, she enjoys running and being outdoors.
