Katie Cutler, PA-C, says that making her patients feel heard is the most essential part of being a provider.

As a physician assistant specializing in vascular surgery at Methodist Physicians Clinic, Cutler enjoys following patients through each stage of their care.

“I get to meet patients in clinic; see them before, during and after surgery; and follow up with them for weeks and months postoperatively,” she said. “I think it’s important for patients to have a familiar face each step of the way throughout their journey.”

She believes that The Meaning of Care includes prioritizing patients’ desires and needs. That includes not only learning about their health concerns but also gaining an understanding about their lives beyond the clinic.

Cutler joined Methodist because she wanted to be part of a tight-knit group of providers who are willing to push her to be the best she can be.

Outside of work, she spends most of her time with her husband traveling, hanging out with family and friends, and going on walks or hikes with their springerdoodle, Bentley. She also enjoys cooking and reading a good fiction book.
