Kaitlin Hehnke, MD, knew she wanted to pursue a career in medicine because of the stories her grandmother shared from being a labor and delivery nurse.
“I was captivated by the idea of being part of some of the most vulnerable, empowering and life-changing moments in a person's life,” Dr. Hehnke said.
As an OB/GYN at Methodist Physicians Clinic, Dr. Hehnke likes that no two days are the same.
“I enjoy the fast pace of labor and delivery, the complexity of GYN, and getting to know your patients and their support system in clinic,” she said.
She believes that the most important part of the patient-provider relationship is trust.
“That’s built through open communication and patient-centered care,” Dr. Hehnke said. “My goal is to always provide patients with a space where they can share their previous experiences, make sure that they feel encouraged to ask questions and feel supported in the medical decisions that we make together.”
She enjoys having the privilege of providing guidance and support during the most meaningful moments in patients’ lives.
“There’s nothing quite like delivering a baby,” she said. “But equally as meaningful is taking care of patients in more difficult times, like pregnancy losses or unexpected complications.”
Outside of work, Dr. Hehnke enjoys attending Husker football and baseball games, traveling, going on walks with her husband and their dachshund, practicing yoga, and baking sourdough.

I tell everyone how amazing Dr Hehnke is. Her knowledge of questions, respect for patients, understanding and calm demeanor is so helpful for someone experiencing pregnancy. I'm so thankful for her!

Dr. Henke was very friendly and easy to talk to. I was nervous because I hasn't seen a lady parts doctor in a long time. She made me feel comfortable and at ease.

I I had left a previous provider for not listening to our concerns due to our pregnancy. This new provider went above and beyond to explain everything read through every single concern I had in my list, explained everything through lead to me and my fianc? we We got there very nervous and we left very happy of how she explained everything and answered all her questions did not seem bothered at all took the time to explain everything and just overall very wonderful experience with this provider very happy that I had found her when I saw her introduction video. I felt a very good Sincere person, not just a provider. It made it very easily. When I met her. She seemed just as a very sincere as in her video would highly recommend her to anybody.
