Dr. McCool graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa and earned her medical degree from the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. During her time at Carver College of Medicine, Dr. McCool tutored first-year medical students in biochemistry, cell biology and neuroscience.
She has taken part in training opportunities focused on the care of geriatric patients and has volunteered her time with residents at senior care facilities and with hospice patients.
