Jennifer M. Simpson, APRN

Jennifer Simpson, MSN, APRN, is an adult acute care nurse practitioner for Methodist Physicians Clinic Skilled Nursing Facility. She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

"I love working with older generations and find it very rewarding," Ms. Simpson said. "These patients can be quite vulnerable with complex medical needs, and I believe in this specialty, I can make a difference."

When she was in high school, her sister was seriously injured in a car accident. That's when she first became interested in medicine.

"I remember thinking that I had no idea what really was going on with her," she said. "Her journey made me curious."

Just as her sister's medical team so effectively explained the details of her condition, Ms. Simpson now strives to make sure patients and their families fully understand their diagnoses and prognoses. It's a big part of her approach to providing effective patient care.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, biking and participating in other outdoor activities with her family. She and her husband met while skiing in Colorado, so they try to return at least once a year.
