Jennifer Busskohl, MPAS, PA-C, believes the commitment to showing each patient The Meaning of Care is what sets Methodist apart.

“The Meaning of Care means giving patients my undivided attention from the moment I sit down with them until the moment they leave the clinic,” said Busskohl, a physician assistant specializing in family medicine at Methodist Physicians Clinic. “It means providing follow-up when needed and being available for questions. It means allowing patients to voice concerns or frustrations without judgment. It means practicing excellent medicine and staying up to date on best practices.”

Methodist is also a special place for providers like herself, she said.

“The culture says it all,” she said. “It's why I started with Methodist and why this will be the place I retire from.”

Busskohl enjoys the variety of patients she sees in her work, and she has a promise for each one: “I’ll show you respect, compassion, patience and excellent care.”

While she cares for patients of all ages, Busskohl finds children to be especially memorable.

“One moment that happens over and over is when a child asks to try my stethoscope. When they hear their own heart beating or listen to their mom’s or dad’s, that’s always a pure and beautiful moment.”

Outside of work, Busskohl enjoys reading, crocheting, knitting and walking. She has three grown children and a granddaughter, and she’s proud to have been married to her best friend for over three decades.
