Jenna Eich, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, credits her mother, a registered nurse, for inspiring her to pursue a career in nursing.
Eich, a palliative care nurse practitioner, is the team lead for Methodist's palliative care services at Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women's Hospital and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. She strives to help patients improve their quality of life by listening to them, addressing their concerns and establishing a treatment plan that best fits their needs.
"It's inspiring when a patient gets relief from their symptoms and they're able to continue doing what brings them joy," she said.
Eich believes that a holistic approach to patient care is most effective.
In her position as team lead, she enjoys mentoring others.
"I'm truly inspired by the culture here at Methodist," she said.
When it comes to providing excellent care, Eich recognizes the importance of collaborating with other providers.
Outside of work, Eich cherishes quality time with her husband and children. Originally from Iowa, her family enjoys watching Iowa Hawkeyes athletic events and spending time outdoors.
