Gina Sanford, APRN, a proud Nebraska Methodist College graduate, found her passion for cardiology during her preceptorship at Methodist Hospital.

“I find the functions of the heart fascinating,” said Sanford, now a nurse practitioner at Methodist Physicians Clinic – Fremont Cardiology and Pulmonology. “And I have a passion for understanding and healing the heart.”

Sanford’s favorite part of her job is building relationships.

“I love getting to know my patients and their families on a personal level and building connections with them,” she said. “I also enjoy being my patients’ advocate, especially when they may not have the ability to advocate for themselves.”

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Sanford spent eight years as a nurse working with cardiac patients in the Medical-Surgical Unit at Methodist Hospital.

She’s honored to work at Methodist because the organization’s core values align with what she believes should be at the heart of patient care.

“I’m proud to work alongside some of the most amazing people, including providers, nurses, food service workers and housekeepers. They are truly all the best.”

When she’s not seeing patients, Sanford enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Together, they enjoy going for walks and camping. They also love to travel and spend time with family and friends.
