Watching her grandmother – a nurse – dedicate her life to caring for others, Elizabeth Sundberg, DNP, FNP-C, was inspired to follow a similar career path.

“Her compassion, her commitment and the respect she earned from both her patients and colleagues showed me the profound impact that nursing can have,” said Sundberg, who sees plastic surgery patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic.

As a nurse practitioner, Sundberg believes she has the opportunity to help patients find their confidence physically and emotionally.

“I’m passionate about empowering patients through individualized care, addressing not only their physical needs but also their overall well-being,” she said.

She’s especially drawn toward helping breast cancer patients regain confidence during their recovery.

“I find it incredibly rewarding to see the progress my patients make over time and to know I’ve played a role in improving their quality of life,” Sundberg said. “I deeply value being an advocate for my patients – whether it’s providing emotional support, ensuring they receive the best possible care or helping them navigate their health care journey.”

Sundberg wants patients to know that she’ll take the time to listen to their concerns so she can empower them to make informed decisions.

Outside of work, Sundberg enjoys traveling, taking Pilates classes, baking, trying new dinner recipes and spending time with her friends and family.
