Elizabeth (Betsy) Miller, APRN

Nurse practitioner Elizabeth Miller, MSN, APRN, ACAGNP-BC, didn't know she wanted to specialize in cardiology until nursing school.

"During the cardiology portion of my curriculum, everything made sense and became easier to connect," said Miller who sees patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic. "When a subject leads to more understanding, the learning process becomes more engaging and enjoyable."

Miller, who still enjoys learning – especially about the latest advancements in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery – has a particular interest in managing coronary artery disease. Her favorite part of her job is getting the opportunity to work with new patients daily while collaborating with them to improve their health.

"To me, The Meaning of Care means working with patients to find motivators in their lives to achieve the best state of health, wellness and mindfulness."

And The Meaning of Care, she added, is why she chooses to be part of Methodist Health System.

"I've explored various health care opportunities in the Omaha area, but I've always come back to Methodist," Miller said. "The employees, technology, individualized care and personalized communication have been key drivers in continuing my career at Methodist. Working for a health care network that you'd not only recommend, but also entrust the care of yourself and your family to speaks volumes of the care provided at Methodist."

Outside of work, Miller  a wife and busy mom of three – enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, staying organized and exploring all that Omaha has to offer.
