Caroline T Humbles, APRN

During her first year of college as an accounting major, Caroline Humbles, AGNP-BC, RN, became curious about health care when she walked into the nursing building and saw students in their white uniforms. She knew she wanted to pursue a career in medicine after working as a CNA at a nursing home.

“I quickly realized how often older adults can be overlooked, and I knew I wanted to be part of ensuring that they receive compassionate care rooted in dignity and respect,” she said. “That experience shaped my passion for advocating for this population and continues to guide my practice today.”

Now a palliative care nurse practitioner at Methodist Hospital, Humbles believes in a collaborative approach where patients feel heard and empowered to participate in their care.

“When patients know their voice matters, it strengthens the partnership and leads to better outcomes,” she said.

Born and raised in Côte d’Ivoire – also known as Ivory Coast in West Africa – Humbles is fluent in French and English.

She enjoys building meaningful relationships with her patients and believes that The Meaning of Care involves recognizing each patient as an individual.

“The experiences I hold closest to my heart are when patients and their families share how they felt truly heard and how their needs were fully met.”

Outside of work, Humbles is married with three children and two dogs. She loves spending time with her family and watching her kids develop their unique personalities.
