Candice Carter, APRN

Candice Carter, APRN, knew at a young age that she wanted to work in women's health, doing anything that involved babies.

She started her medical career as a labor and delivery nurse before realizing the difference she could make for couples experiencing infertility.

Now a nurse practitioner specializing in reproductive endocrinology at Methodist Hospital Reproductive Health Specialists on the campus of Methodist Women's Hospital, Carter is passionate about the unique relationships she builds with patients.

"I have always been a very nurturing person, and I love to care for others," she said. "I love establishing relationships with my patients and being a part of their lives in all of the big and small moments."

Carter is particularly interested in working with patients with endometriosis or polycystic ovary syndrome. She wants her patients to know that she'll provide effective communication to ensure that all decisions they make about their health are made collaboratively.

Carter believes that The Meaning of Care means showing care and compassion at all times.

"It's about going above and beyond to ensure that everyone who walks through your doors has a positive experience," she said.

Outside of caring for patients, Carter stays busy with her kids and their cheerleading, volleyball and basketball events. She also enjoys baking, creating custom cookies, and – if time allows – relaxing outside by the fire pit with a blanket and a book.
