Whether she's providing pulmonology care or critical care, Candace Huebert, MD, loves to see the impact she can have on patients.
"On the outpatient side of care, I love to care for the same patient over time and see their pulmonary health improve," said Dr. Huebert, who splits her time between Methodist Physicians Clinic and the Methodist Hospital Critical Care Unit. "It's so meaningful to hear them say they can do more or return to their regular activities and have a better quality of life."
She added: "On the inpatient side, to see patients go from their worst day to baby steps in a positive direction is so bucket filling. It's satisfying to be able to see them through their ICU stay and then be able to transfer them to the general ward as they move toward leaving the hospital."
Methodist, she said, provides patients and providers with a unique combination of compassion and state-of-the-art care.
"This is a special place," she said. "Methodist has a vast amount of resources, but it also has a small-town community feel. You can have really meaningful interactions with everyone around you."
It all adds up to patients and families experiencing The Meaning of Care, Dr. Huebert said.
"The Meaning of Care means empathy, compassion and advocacy whenever possible," she said. "It means that no matter what, my No. 1 job is to advocate for the patient in the most meaningful way possible."
Outside of work, Dr. Huebert enjoys spending time with her family and taking part in a growing list of hobbies that includes playing tennis, participating in a neighborhood book club and attending her children's sporting events and activities.

Dr. Candace Huebert was excellent, caring, and respectful. I did explain to her what had happened with my scheduling and she apologized and made sure that my 90 day follow up appointment with her was made without any imposed delays or scheduling excuses..

Dr. Candace Heubert was very thorough and explained everything in laymen terms. She is awesome and takes time with you to make sure everything is answered. Follow up with her has been outstanding.

I was a patient of Dr. Ware. Because he moved to Fremont, I had to choose a new position. I liked Candice Huebert very much.

Dr. Huebert is a wonderful Doc. She is very patient, listens intently, and explains things clearly and succinctly. She's truly a credit to her profession. If you spend a few minutes with her, you can just tell she's just a warm and caring human being. The staff is awesome as well.

I was so very impressed with Dr. Huebert! She had read extensively about my PE a year ago and also wanted further diagnostics on a lung nodules. Dr. Heubert was excellent. I could tell she really cared about solving my ongoing problem. She explained my test results and offered a multi pronged approach to getting to the root cause. I left the office excited and hopeful that I can finally get some answers. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a good pulmonologist.
