Blake Jessen, PT

lake Jessen, PT, MPT, Cert. MDT, is a physical therapist at Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest. He completed his medical training at Des Moines University in Iowa. He is particularly interested in outpatient orthopedics and has specialty training in treating the spine.

Jessen, a multisport athlete in high school and college, has always been fascinated with human movement. After volunteering in a physical therapy office and seeing the impact he could have on someone, he became convinced a career in physical therapy was right for him. Seeing a patient improve their quality of life still inspires him today.

"I believe we should do our best to get patients better in as few visits as possible," he said. "We should also teach patients to take care of themselves so they don't need care in the future."

Jessen's free time is usually spent with his wife and their three children. They enjoy camping and sports, and Jessen also likes to read and exercise.
