Benjamin Lloyd, PA-C, became interested in medicine as a teenager while caring for his father, who had latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA).

“I started to do research so I could help take better care of him, and that sparked an interest in medicine and caring for people,” he said.

Lloyd, who specializes in pulmonology at Methodist Physicians Clinic, enjoys discovering what a patient is dealing with and helping them resolve or manage their symptoms.

“When you get to connect with people daily and feel like you’ve made a difference in their lives – that’s the greatest reward,” he said.

A native of Durham, North Carolina, Lloyd has worked for Methodist since March 2020, spending time at multiple Methodist Physicians Clinic urgent care locations.

“Once I joined Methodist, I was immediately treated like a team member,” he said. “I’m proud to be part of a health system that is expanding to fit the needs of the region and population.”

He wants patients to know that he’s committed to caring for the whole person, not just their medical needs.

“I strive to always make sure my patients are well cared for and completely understand every aspect of their care,” he said.

Outside of work, Lloyd is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys rock climbing, golf, hiking and winter sports. He’s also married with two children.
