Working for Methodist was a no-brainer for Krista Hummel, MSN, WHNP-BC, who fondly remembers the births of her three younger brothers and life-saving care her mother received at Methodist Hospital.

“I’ve known Methodist was a special place since childhood,” she said.

After spending more than eight years as an operating room nurse at Methodist Women’s Hospital, Hummel felt called to advance her career. Now a women’s health nurse practitioner at the Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center, she’s passionate about gynecologic surgery as well as fertility and postpartum care.

“I want my patients to know that I will always advocate for them,” she said. “They will always be treated with respect and equality – no matter their backgrounds or beliefs.”

Hummel enjoys spending her free time with her husband, two children and four pets. She likes traveling, doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening and caring for her houseplants. The “diehard Husker fan” also enjoys watching sports – especially Nebraska volleyball and football.
