Dr. Reema Abou-Nasr knew from very early in her life that she would one day be a doctor. As a little girl, she loved playing with medical-themed toys. She even used to pretend her pets were her patients, and would frequently bandage their "injuries." Her interest later became her devotion during middle school. After her sister experienced a difficult pregnancy and birth, a young Dr. Abou-Nasr solidified her determination of wanting to do her part in helping people like her sister.
Dr. Abou-Nasr went on to attend medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Later developing a desire to treat a wide range of patients, she completed her family medicine residency at Creighton's Department of Family Practice. Today, she is a family practice doctor at Methodist Physicians Clinic.
Dr. Abou-Nasr loves every moment of her job, and considers every day wonderful. She loves seeing patients starting from infancy and seeing them grow into adults. It is also very rewarding to see those patients later come back with families of their own. In order to establish those relationships, she believes communication is crucial. She recognizes that it is important to work together with patients and communicate teachings and options about their health.
When she is not guiding her patients toward better health, Dr. Abou Nasr likes staying busy. Outside of the consultation room, she enjoys spending time with family. She also enjoys gardening, traveling and cooking new and exciting dishes.
